Allyn was born December 26, 1952 in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Ray and Mary Smith. She attended school in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 1970.
October 4, 1975, Allyn was united in marriage to Victor Kuhnau at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria.   To this union five children were born.  The family lived in Alexandria and Allyn was very involved with her children’s activities – whether it was volunteering at Zion School or raising money for the Marching Band she was always there to help.  She held a high standard for her children and always wanted the best for them and never did she leave a doubt of how much she loved each of them.  To Victor she was not only his wife but his best friend.
Allyn also loved hosting family events and welcomed family and friends with open arms and love.  She will be remembered for her ability of not telling you what to do but gently guiding you in the right direction.  She was also a wonderful cook and her love for shopping was her special connection with her three daughters and mom.  The family also enjoyed going on camping trips and spending time at the beach.
She is survived by her husband, Vic; son, Corey (Brenda) of Chili, WI; daughter, Amy (Matthew) Lind of Otsego; son, Tony (Ashley) of Alexandria; daughter, Mandy (Wade) Meyer of Hopkins; and daughter, Emily (Connor) Blacksher of Duluth. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Jordan, Kendra, Quinn, Eli, and Evan. She is survived by one brother, Terry (Linda) Smith and one sister, Germaine Smith, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Mary Smith.
