Jean P. Maanum, age 87, of Benson, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Services are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson, with Rev. Paul Idstrom officiating.
Visitation is from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson.  Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Arrangements are with the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson, MN.

Jean Phyllis Maanum was born May 23, 1926 in White Bear Lake Township to Arnold and Esther (Christenson) Gorder.  She was baptized July 4, 1926 and confirmed April 6, 1941 at the Indherred Lutheran Church by Rev. G. O. Forde.  She attended Pope County Rural School Dist. 92 and graduated from Starbuck High School in 1944.  She was employed at the Starbuck Creamery Co. after graduation.
 
Jean was united in marriage to Junior K. Maanum on March 6, 1948 by Rev. G. O. Forde at the Indherred Church.  They lived in Starbuck until 1952, when they moved to a farm north of Clontarf.  Two children were born to this union.  In 1957, they moved to Benson.  She was employed as a bookkeeper at Benson Produce, Benson Creamery, Mid-Am Dairymen, Benson Lumber, Peavey Lumber, and McCarthy Lumber.  In later years, she worked at Dahl’s SuperValu and Darold’s SuperValu.
 
Jean was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she participated in Sunday School, WELCA, Choir, Bell Choir, Circle, Church Council, Quilting, and Word Alone.  Her hobbies included crocheting, playing the organ, making doughnuts, and playing cards.
 
Jean died on February 11, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital.  She had attained 87 years, 8 months, and 18 days of age.  She is survived by a son, Linden (Nancy) Maanum of Benson; a daughter, Phyllis (Ronald) Johnson of Raymond; three grandsons: Brett, Anthony, and Kirby Johnson; six great-grandchildren: Ella Rae, Emerson, Hadley, Karley, Daltyn, and Aaron; two brothers: Norman (Margaret) Gorder of Havre, MT, and Arnold (Doris) Gorder, Jr. of Starbuck; and several nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Esther Gorder; husband, Junior K. Maanum, in 1980; and two brothers, Lloyd and Milo Gorder.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
