Jean Helen (Ogren) Peterson, formerly of Benson, died Thursday February 6, 2014 at the Regina Senior Living Center in Hastings, MN.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 13 at 11 a.m. at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Woodbury, MN.
Jean was born February 2, 1928 in Alexandria, MN, the daughter of Robert and Helen Ogren.  She lived her early years in Nelson, MN and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1946.  She married Jim Peterson on August 3, 1950.  Jean was ambitious and hard-working her whole life.  Along with her husband, sister or by herself, she owned and actively managed three clothing stores, a large motel and a restaurant.  Although Jean spent most of her adult life in Benson she also lived in California, Washington, Texas and Oklahoma.  Jean raised 3 sons and always enjoyed being part of their lives along with all of their families.  She was always very active doing painting, drawing, family genealogy, playing cards and visiting her children and grandchildren.  Jean had a very strong faith and was very active at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church of Benson for many years.
Jean is survived by her husband, Jim, 3 sons, Bob (Karen) of Conroe, TX, Jim of Rochester, Dave (Deborah) of Woodbury; grandchildren, Toni (Eric) Hadlund, Robert (Julie) Peterson, Meridee (Brian) Rodel, Jim (Erin) Peterson, David (Katie) Peterson, Mark (Carrie) Peterson, Katie (Dan) Decabooter, Rachel (Trent) Studier; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Jack, Hannah, Jozy, Lilly, Maddox, Xaiver, Brennan, Graham, Noah, Eleanor, Charlie and Carson.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, sister Joan and infant brother Robert.
