2014 Utility Improvement Project

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the CITY OF BENSON, Minnesota at the Benson City Hall, 1410 Kansas Avenue, Benson, Minnesota, 2:00 PM, Local Time on January 9, 2014 at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all materials, skill, labor and all else necessary for the 2014 Utility Improvement Project.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:   Water and sanitary sewer Improvements. Major items include the following approximate quantities:
370        LFPVC Sanitary Sewer and Appurtenances, 15”diameter    876           LFWater piping and Appurtenances, 6”-8” diameter
1,600     SYBituminous Street Repair
400           LFConcrete Curb and Gutter
200           LFTrenchless Water Service
        
BID SECURITY:     Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bidders bond acceptable to the City of Benson in an amount of not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid, payable without condition to the City of Benson. In the case that the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract or to give bond as required by the specifications, within the specified number of days after the award of the contract, such check or bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages.
PROCUREMENT OF DOCUMENTS:     The Bidding Documents are on file and available for inspection at Benson City Hall, 1410 Kansas Avenue, Benson, Minnesota, 56215 and the offices of LANDTEAM, Inc., 509 22nd Avenue East Suite 102, Alexandria, Minnesota, 56308.  
Complete digital project contract documents are available at www.questcdn.com. Documents are available under Quest project #3015864 for $30.00. Optional paper copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at Landteam, Inc. for a non-refundable amount of $60.00 for each set.
CONTRACT TIME:     Notice to Proceed on or about February 3, 2014, and with a Final Completion date of August 29, 2014.
BID SUBMITAL:     All bids must be submitted on the official forms, prepared by the Engineer for that purpose. Bids shall be directed to the City Clerk, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside with a brief statement as to the work for which the bid is made.
BASIS OF AWARD:     Basis of bid award will be on total construction cost. The City of Benson reserves the right to adjust the total contract amount awarded by deleting any bid schedules as necessary to meet budget requirements.
RIGHT TO REJECT BIDS:      The City of Benson reserves the right to hold all bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening of the Bids and to reject any and all Bids, waive informalities in bidding or to accept the Bid, or Bids, which best serve the interests of City.
