Gary Richard Trew, 54, formerly of Benson

Gary Richard Trew, 54, husband of Diane Patrice Trew, passed away suddenly at Cape Charles Marina in Cape Charles,Virginia aboard the C.C. Rider Sunday, April 7, 2013.
He was a resident of Benson, Minnesota but spent some of his retirement in Cape Charles as Captain of the C.C. Rider.
Gary was born October 22, 1958 in Flint, Michigan and was the son of the late Burley William Trew and Eeva Heinonen Trew.
Other than his spouse, he is survived by four sons: Shawn William Trew of Richmond, VA, Kyle Douglas Trew of Long Valley, NJ, Jacob Burley Trew of Alexandria, Minnesota, David Marion Trew of Benson; a daughter, Hillary Rose Trew of Long Island, NJ; two brothers, Mark William Trew of West Palm Beach, FL, Lee Stevens Trew of Raleigh, NC; a sister, Lea Suzette Trew Porter, of Raleigh, NC; also several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held dockside at the Cape Charles Harbor in Virginia, Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Afterwards, the family took his ashes out to sea and then met later at The Shanty.
