NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT:
There will be a meeting of the Swift County Planning Commission on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Room in the Swift County Courthouse, 301 14th St. No., Benson, MN to consider the following:
IN THE MATTER OF:  Earl B. Olson Farms, Inc.,  To: Jennie-O Turkey Store, Inc., Riverside, P.O. Box 778,  Willmar, MN  56201 (Owner)
REQUEST:  Conditional Use Permit for the following:  Existing site is permitted for three total confinement grower barns housing 35,400 turkeys (637 A.U.’s), and one total confinement brood barn housing 24,300 turkeys (122 A.U.’s) for a total of 759 A.U.’s.  Jennie-O is proposing to house 38,500 turkeys (693 A.U.’s) in two barns over five lbs. Plus, 52,140 turkeys (261 A.U.’s) in two barns, under five lbs. Total animal units for the site will be 954.  One existing barn 72’x 202’ barn will need minor roof repair, but no change in use.  One 72’x 356’ barn will be shortened to 232’, repair roof damage and convert to a brood facility.  One 60’x 512’ barn will be rebuilt due to a total loss from storm damage.  One 64’x 480’ barn was a total loss due to storm damage and it will be rebuilt as a 60’x 448’ barn.
LOCATION:    The NE ¼ & the NW ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 3 of T-122, R-38 (Camp Lake Township) of Swift County, MN.
