PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED FOR DRAFT
WATER PLAN 10-YEAR UPDATE

On September 17, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., the Swift County Board of Commissioners together with the Water Planning Task Force hereby give notice for a continuation of a public hearing regarding the draft Comprehensive Local Water Plan for Swift County as authorized under Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 103B.301.
This plan deals with both surface water, groundwater and land protection. The plan includes a general discussion of water resources in the county, an assessment of those resources, goals, objectives, and actions identified for their protection and a ten-year implementation plan. A copy of the draft plan can be found on the County web site (www.swiftcounty.com)
This meeting will give the public and all local governmental units an opportunity to comment on the draft plan and make suggestions for changes if needed. If you can’t make it to the public meeting, comments can be sent to Swift County Environmental Services, P.O. Box 288, Benson, MN  56215 or Scott Collins at scott.collins@co.swift.mn.us. After the public meeting, changes will be discussed and made if needed before it is submitted to the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources for final review.
