Rose J. Miller, age 84, of Benson, died on Wednesday morning, February 28, 2018, at the Prairie Senior Cottages in Willmar, Minnesota.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, March 9, followed by the funeral service at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Benson, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service at the Benson City Cemetary. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrantmements.
Rose Johanne Miller was born on March 28, 1933 at her parent’s home near Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, the daughter of Elmer August and Nellie Dorthea (Forsythe) Neal. She was baptized on April 14, 1946 in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota by Pastor Slaymaker and was confirmed as an adult on April 12, 1965 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Benson. She grew up and attended school in Sleepy Eye.
On May 6, 1949, Rose was united in marriage to Lee Charles Miller at the Methodist church in Morgan, Minnesota by the Rev. Slaymaker. To this union four daughters and two sons were born. Together they were able to share in over forty-six years of marriage. The family farmed in Sleepy Eye, Maynard, DeGraff and Benson area for many years. They also owned and operated the Viking Café for 13 years.  After moving to Benson and living there for a few years, they retired.  She was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church where she helped with Meals on Wheels, the Ladies Guild, Funeral Committee Chairwoman, a Sunday school teacher, and she belonged to the Torning 4-H Happy Hustlers. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, quilting, sewing, compiling uncirculated quarters and making booklets, and making history books. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandkids and took the time to make a recipe book which included all her favorite recipes for each of the grand kids.
Rose was called from this life on Wednesday morning February 28, 2018 at the Prairie Senior Cottages in Willmar. She attained the age of 84 years and 11 months. She is survived by her children: Connie Ollendick of Benson, Joyce (Delmar) Stottler of Monticello, Richard Miller of Benson, Darlene (Dick) Moline of Benson, Karen Quigley of Kerkhoven, and Kevin Miller of Burnsville; her grandchildren: Wendy Wharem, Heather Ollendick, Veronica Tolifson, Matthew Ollendick, Ryan Stottler, Heidi Steinmetz, Tonya Stottler, Melissa Millard, Ben Miller, Morgan Miller, Abraham Miller, Eric Alsaker, Jamie Alsaker, Frankie Rakowski, Christena Quigley, and Everett Quigley; great-grandchildren: Bailey Wharem, Brooke Wharem, Sophia Wharem, Scarlett Tolifson, Ethan Tolifson, Samuel Tolifson, Bree Ollendick, Anya Ollendick, Mya Ollendick, Liam Ollendick, Liam Stottler, Nolan Stottler, Kahley Steinmetz, Grace Steinmetz, Ava Steinmetz, Tabor Stottler, Kaitlyn Lundebrek, Madisen Lundebrek, Oliver Reiland, Isaiah Miller, Arianne Alsaker, Denise Alsaker, Kyla Alsaker, Alexis Rakowski, Austin Rakowski, Taylor Babcock, and Connor Quigley; her  great-great-grandchildren: Peyton Rose Quirk, Lane Russell Alsaker, Vivian Rose Alsaker, and Violet Rose Quigley; and many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lee on October 7, 1995; her parents Elmer and Nellie; a sister Violet Suess; brothers John and Ben; a grandson baby boy Ollendick; granddaughter April Stottler; and great-grandson Elijah Zane Wharem.  Blessed be the memory of Rose Miller.
