Dylan Richard Peterson was born November 10, 1992 at the Swift County Benson Hospital.  He passed away at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, September 30, 2017.  The family will be having a private memorial at a later date.
Dylan was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls, where he was baptized in January of 1993.
He attended school in Benson where he graduated in 2011 and went on to Ridgewater College where he graduated in 2013 from the Auto Body Technology Program.  While in school, he was active in football, wrestling, baseball and basketball.
Dylan also participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.  He especially enjoyed the summer and winter camps, the Pine Wood Derby, and cake auction.  Dylan was a great fundraiser for the Boy Scouts popcorn sales.
Dylan worked at various jobs including Jeff’s Autobody in Pennock, Custom Roto-Mold, and did custom automotive and detail painting.  He also did shingling, concrete, landscaping, and carpentry jobs.
Hobbies included fishing, Frisbee golf, video games, and doing activities outdoors.  He always enjoyed challenging himself to fix or build something; a project was always in the works.
Dylan was always passionate about helping others whether rescuing someone from a vehicle break-down, helping people move things, and pushing friends and neighbors out of the snow.
Through Dylan’s love of animals and his own pets being rescues, please donate to the Swift County Humane Society in memory of him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Richard and Clarice Aasgaard; paternal grandparents Phillip and Myrtle Peterson; aunts Evelyn Aasgaard and Blanche Olson; cousins Lily Cayo and Vanessa Olson.
Dylan is survived by parents Gary and Joanne Peterson of Benson; brother, Eric Peterson of Benson; uncles and aunts: Ramona and Donald Trousil of Starbuck, LeRoy and Jeri Aasgaard   of Franklin, Donald Aasgaard and fiancé Peggy Douma of Glenwood, Brenda Aasgaard of Benson, Norman and Phyllis Peterson of St. George, UT; cousins: Rose, David, Jimmy, Paul, Chrissy, Travis, Jory, Sarah, Jacob, Brianna, Shelly, Marcy and Kelly; and numerous other relatives and friends.
