The Benson volleyball team went 2-4 last week during one of the busiest weeks of the 2017 season.
The Braves opened up the week with a 3-0 loss at Sauk Centre last Tuesday night, and then lost in four games at BOLD, Thursday.  The week came to an end at the Minnewaska Area Tourney, Saturday, where Benson went 2-2 to place fourth overall.
The Braves went 2-1 in pool play before losing to Kittson County Central in the third-place match.  “After a somewhat slow start, our team went 2-2 at the Minnewaska Area Tourney to place fourth,” coach Shannon Schmidt said.  “We played really good volleyball at times, but need to work on consistency.”
The Braves are now 3-7 overall and 1-4 in the conference heading into another busy week of play.  Benson was set to host ACGC, Tuesday (yesterday) and Montevideo, Thursday (tomorrow) before competing in another tournament at Willmar, Saturday.

The Braves played a very strong match, but still lost in three games at Sauk Centre last Tuesday night, 25-22, 25-12, 25-20.
Sauk Centre, one of the top teams in the area, got 15 kills from Nicole Kartan, who also had.....
