Lore M. Heidel-Lageson, 88, died on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, from 10 - 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Interment will follow the service at West Bank Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements are with the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.
   
Lore Marie Heidel-Lageson, 88, was born on December 23, 1928, in Leipzig, Germany. She grew up in Germany and graduated high school then attended Hans Schemm Schide School of Occupational therapy in Great Britain. During her lifetime she was able to enjoy traveling the world, visiting many interesting countries, and even climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro-Africa’s highest mountain. She lived and worked in Africa for many years as an occupational therapist. She considered her work with Leprosy patients in Africa as her greatest accomplishment. She became a United States Citizen in 1982. 
 
On September 6, 2003, she married Clarence Lageson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. They made their home in Benson.  She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Lore enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, drawing, and painting. She loved poetry and listening to her native German music. 
 
Lore was called from this life on Thursday afternoon, September 7, 2017, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar. She attained the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 15 days. She is survived by her sister, Sieglinde Milsch of Leipzig, Germany; her nieces and nephews: Dr. Susan Trumpler, Stephan Milsch, Klaus Schirmer, and Gunter Schirmer of Germany; Clarence’s niece and nephew Marlow and Pat Erdman of Willmar; and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, her parents, and a sister Marianne. Blessed be her memory.
