Claudia Elaine Rode, 80, Fergus Falls, MN, died Saturday, August 26, 2017, at the Minnesota Veteran’s Home in Fergus Falls, MN.
She was born on November 29, 1936, in Appleton, MN, to Julius and Mary (Barr) Pederson.  Claudia attended grade school in Appleton through the 11thgrade.  At the age of 63, she obtained her G.E.D.
On August 8, 1954, she married Arnold R. Rode in Appleton, MN.  
Claudia enjoyed being a housewife and a mother.  From 1963 to 1966, while Arnold was in the military, the family lived in Germany and traveled to Italy, France, Austria, and Switzerland.   She was employed as a chiropractic assistant in Melrose and a supervisor at Master Mark’s Plastics in Albany.
She was a member of the MSLC (Missouri Synod Lutheran Church).  Claudia’s hobbies included oil painting, quilting, ceramics, knitting, card and board games.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Arnold R. Rode Sr. in 2016; son, Arnold R. Rode Jr.; daughter, Regina Lee Rode; and brother, Richard Pederson; great-grandson Elliot Gross.
Survivors include her children, Vicky Ann (Brad) Borud of Avon, and Julie Ann (Randy Alden) Schwinghammer of St. Francis; daughter-in-law Tari Lynn Rode of New Hope; grandchildren, Sarah Gross, Joshua Rode, Arnold R. Rode III, BreAnne Schwinghammer, April Frazier, James Rode, Amanda Schwinghammer, Adam Frazier, and Jacob Rauker; great-grandchildren, Joshua Rode Jr., Tajmaah August, Janai Rode, Claudia Latare, Evyn Gross, Kingston Rode, Liam Rode, Rowan Rode, Connor Frazier, Arnold R. Rode IV, and Audrey Birnie; siblings, Inez Dehne, Murray Pederson, Ernie Pederson, Diana Mueller, and Doug Pederson; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
