After a terrible twister roars across the dusty fields of her beloved Kansas, accidental traveler Dorothy Gale finds herself immersed in an unlikely tangle of friends and foes on her way to meet the mysterious Wizard in the Emerald City.

As Dorothy and her ever-growing roster of travel companions follow the Yellow Brick Road, she discovers that sometimes it’s not about the journey itself, but the friends you make along the way.

The Compass Creative Dramatic Children’s Theatre is working with Benson Community Education and local youth this week to rehearse for two performances this Friday and Saturday of “The Wizard of Oz”.

Auditions took place Monday afternoon in the senior high gym and practices will take place all week leading up to the performances at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4 and again at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 5 in the senior high gym.  Tickets are $5 (preschoolers free) and area available at the door.
