Tennis team falls to Litchfield in 6A opener

The Benson boys tennis team was eliminated with a 7-0 loss to Litchfield, Thursday night in the opening round of the Section 6A Team Tennis Tournament.
Benson was seeded eighth and Litchfield first in the 8-team field.  The Braves, who fell to Pine City earlier in the week, 6-1, ended the season with a 3-13 overall record.
The Braves were also 2-3 in the WCC, finishing fourth, finishing behind Lac qui Parle-DB, Montevideo, and Minnewaska Area.
The Section 6A “Final Four” is set for Monday at St. Ben’s University, while the Section 6A Individual Tourney is set to begin Wednesday (today), and finish Tuesday, May 30.
Participating in the section tourney will be Eric Hoium-Nathan Habben, and Kevin Johnson-Josh Clark in doubles, and Jonas Habben and Taylor Duncan in singles.
