MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 777,
Benson, Minnesota
Monday, April 24, 2017 - 5:30 p.m.
Benson Junior High Auditorium
The special meeting was called to order at 5:33 p.m. by Chair Chad Payne.  Members present:   Andy Abner, Jodi DeJong-Hughes, Mary Langan, Jason Madden, Bill McGeary, Chad Payne.
Members absent:  Gary Williams.  Also present:  Dennis Laumeyer, Robert Neuman.
Director and Swift County Emergency Manager, Bill McGeary, formally thanked the Benson Schools for signing on to allow school facilities to be used as an emergency shelter.
The board accepted the low bid from Kranz Construction of Milan, MN in the amount of $278,760 for the BHS cafeteria and NS bathroom summer projects. Discussion was held about the scope of the summer projects. 
The board approved dissolving the current Girl’s Hockey Cooperative. 
The board approved a new Girl’s Hockey Cooperative that includes Benson, Morris Area, and CGB for the 2017-2018 season. 
The board took a tour of the Benson Secondary School to discuss the cafeteria project and Northside Elementary bathroom project and review the Jr. High Auditorium.
