The funeral mass for Donald Ascheman, of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Assumption Catholic Church in Morris.  Celebrant for the mass will be Father Stan Wieser.  Visitation will be Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Morris.
Donald Henry Ascheman, son of Fred and Anna (McCarthy) Ascheman was born on May 22, 1924 on a farm in Swift County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Clontarf, Minnesota.  Donald attended District #45 country school in Stevens County through the 8th grade. He lived on the farm with his parents, farming their land in Swift and Stevens counties. After his parents passed away, he continued to live on the farm until 1990, when he moved to his home in Morris. Don moved to Skyview Assisted Living in Morris in January of 2015 and was happy there until the time of his death.
He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church. Don enjoyed his apple trees and raspberry bushes, keeping his family supplied with fruit.
Don died on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Skyview Court in Morris, Minnesota.  He was 92 year old.
He is survived by one sister: Marietta (Rich) Jacobson, St. Louis Park, MN; one sister-in-law: Dorothy Ascheman, Burnsville, MN; two nieces: Deborah (Jim) Ostroot and Jane Ascheman, all of Burnsville, MN; six nephews: David (Becky) Ascheman, Prior Lake, MN, Greg (Susan) Jacobson, Eveleth, MN, Steven Jacobson, Maple Plain, MN, Jim (Wendy) Jacobson and Mark (Jinniece) Jacobson, all of St. Louis Park, MN, and Jeff (Lori) Jacobson, St. Michael, MN; and many great-nieces and nephews.  Don was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Arnold and a great-nephew, Kevin Jacobson.
