Braves top Lakers for first victory

The Benson baseball team earned its first win of the season with a 6-4 victory at Minnewaska Area, Friday night.  The two teams were supposed to meet for a doubleheader, Thursday, but cold and rain forced a postponement and instead of rescheduling a doubleheader, the two teams scheduled one game, Friday and the other game for Monday, May 1.
The Braves, who improved to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in the WCC with the win, were also supposed to host Montevideo last Tuesday night, but that game was also postponed and will be made up Thursday, May 4.
Benson has four games scheduled this week, including the game with Minnewaska Area, Monday, a home game with ACGC, Tuesday, and makeup game with Montevideo, Thursday, and a night game with Hancock, Friday....
