Track teams open up season at home meet

The Benson-KMS boys and girls track teams opened up the season at the first of three Benson Invitationals scheduled this spring.  Both squads finished fourth of five teams with Eden Valley-Watkins-Kimball Area winning both meets by wide margins.
Allie Mitteness, Max Peterson, and the boys 3200 meter relay team of Jon Tostenson, Josh Bailey, Mike Nagler, and Benji McGee had the only firsts for Benson-KMS.  Mitteness won the 800 meter run in 2:41.61, while Peterson won the long jump with a leap of 18-5 3/4.
Next up for the teams is the Morris Invitational, set for Tuesday, April 11, followed by the Minnewaska Invitational, Tuesday, April 18.  Results from the Montevideo Invitational last Thursday can be found on page 2B....
