Cynthia Ann Bertels, 58, of Willmar, Minnesota died Friday, March 31, 2017 at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.   Private family services were held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
Cynthia Ann Nyberg was born November 9, 1958, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Carlton and Leanora (McCracken) Nyberg.  She grew up in Benson, attended Northside Elementary School and graduated from Benson High School in 1977.  She continued her education at Alexandria Vo-Tech for carpentry.  She was the only female in her class of 1986.
February 14, 2005, she was united in marriage to William Bertels in Sioux Falls, SD.  Following their marriage, they lived mostly in Willmar.  She was self-employed doing carpentry, painting and landscaping work.  
Her family remembers her enjoyment of antiquing, painting, reading and being outdoors.  Taking care of her family, immediate and extended, was her primary love in life.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; children: Jessica (and Ryan) Mortensen, Leah Sangabriel, William “Cody” (and Sara Baumann) Bertels all of Willmar; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Also surviving is her mother, Leanora Nyberg of Benson and siblings: William (and Kathy) Nyberg of Bird Island, Karen (and Jeff) Bingham of Bemidji and Eric Nyberg of Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carlton.
