Clarence "Butch" F. Higdon, 68, of Jackson passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, March 17, 2017  from 5 to 7 PM at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral Service will be on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 1:30 PM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Benson with Rev. John R. Smith officiating. Military Rites will follow by the Benson American Legion and VFW Posts.
Burial will be at a later date in the Benson City Cemetery.
CLARENCE “BUTCH” FRANKLIN HIGDON was born on June 28, 1948 in Great Falls, Montana, the son of George and Ruby (Valentine) Higdon.  He graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1965 in Battle Creek, Michigan. He had served 2 tours in Vietnam in the US Army. After his discharge, he attended Willmar Technical College in Willmar, Minnesota, with a degree in engineering.  He had worked for Lo-Ral in Benson until they were bought out by Ag-Chem and then moved with Ag-Chem to Jackson in 2001.  He was still working as an engineer for over 20 years.  Butch passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the age of 68 years, 8 months and 14 days.
Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.  He loved to go FAST, owning numerous fast cars.   He greatest joy was his grandchildren and his family.
Clarence is survived by his daughter, Ruby (Tomy Southard) Higdon of Jackson and a son, Jason Higdon; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Naber, Talissa Higdon, Miika Southard and Misu Southard; 3 sisters, Rosie (Scott) Huston  of Benson, Nellie (Chet) Amis of Virginia and Melanie (John) McMillan of Two Harbors, MN and a brother, Victor Higdon of Clontarf, MN.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clyde Higdon and a sister, Connie Kennedy.
