Lawrence N. Johnson, Jr. died Tuesday morning, February 21, 2017, at the Golden Living Center in Benson, Minnesota.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Visitation was held Monday, February 27, 2017, from 5-7 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson and continued for one hour prior to the service at the church  Tuesday. Interment was in the Benson City Cemetery.
Lawrence Nelson Johnson, Jr. was born August 4, 1926, the son of Lawrence Sr. and Myrtle (Nelson) Johnson.  He grew up in the Benson area and attended country school through the eighth grade.  
October 18, 1951, Junior was united in marriage to Lila V. Nelson.  This union was blessed with more than 65 years of marriage, four children and two grandchildren.  Junior worked at Tyler Manufacturing/CASE for 26 years, helped area farmers, and worked at Johnson Fertilizer in Clontarf.  He enjoyed fishing, boating, and being around the lake.
Junior was called from this life Tuesday morning, February 21, 2017, at the Golden Living Center - Meadow Lane in Benson.  He attained 90 years, six months and 17 days of age.
Junior is survived by his wife, Lila Johnson of Benson; children: Steven Johnson of Benson, Marsha (David) Schouveller of St. Paul, Bruce (Betty) Johnson of Hector, and Lori (Dale) Theel of Benson; grandchildren: Michael Theel and Amanda Theel; siblings: Daryl (Laurel) Johnson of Twin Valley, Leighton (Faye) Johnson of Jesup, GA, Marlow (Sandy) Johnson of Webster, WI, and Pam Torgerson of Shakopee; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Sr. and Myrtle Johnson; sisters: Ardis Neuhaus, Bev Richardson, and Debbie Dingwell; and brothers, Silas Johnson and David Johnson.
