Roger “Billy” William Schlueter, age 77, of Benson, MN, died Monday, February 20, 2017, at his residence in Benson.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in DeGraff, MN. Interment will be in the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Benson, MN.
Roger “Billy” William Schlueter was born September 15, 1939, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Otto Adolph and Mabel Marie (Weber) Schlueter.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith by Fr. King in Clontarf.  He grew up in Benson and attended grade school and Benson High School.  
Billy served in the Minnesota National Guard Reserve from 1958 to 1963 and received a sharpshooter medal for his excellent marksmanship.  Over the years, he did farm work, and worked at Langs, Benson Bottling Works, and Great Northern Railroad.  Among the things he enjoyed were raising pigeons and rabbits, playing pool, pheasant hunting, fishing, outings, spending time with family, and he especially enjoyed suppers at Sandy’s Café and Burger King.
Billy is survived by his siblings: Darlene Schwintek of Clear Lake, Gary Schlueter of Montevideo, Terry (Janet) Schlueter of Silver Lake, and Janelle (Keith) Skarsten of Hancock; and his nieces and nephews.   
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Mabel Schlueter; grandparents: Martin and Emma (Giese) Schlueter and Anton and Ida Weber; and brother-in-law, Lee Schwintek.
