Donna M. Goff, age 74, died on Saturday Morning, February 18, at Meadow Lane Health Care Center in Benson.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24, at 10:30 am, at the Word Fellowship Church in Appleton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson, with a family prayer service at 7:00 p.m., and continue from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday at the church. Interment will be in the Benson City Cemetery.
Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Donna Mae (Gunderson) Goff was born October 1st, 1942, to Edward Louis and Mable Ruth (Hanson) Gunderson, at the Air Force base in Rapid City, South Dakota. She entered into Heaven on Saturday morning, February 18th, after a courageous battle with ALS.
She is survived by her children, Les (Kathy) Goff, of Benson. Sandi (Murray) Stefferud, of Champlin, and Greg (Carol) Goff of Danvers; 11 grandchildren, Brain (Clare) Goff, Abby (Brian Amundson) Goff, Bryce Goff, Alex, Gina, and Jillian Stefferud, Thomas Goff, Emily Goff, Samantha (Klinton) Van Heuvlen, Jacob Goff, and Jessica Goff; 2 great grandchildren Atticus and Adisyn Goff;  and her sister, Linda Stauffacher of Benson. She is preceded in death by her Loving Husband Luverne E. Goff, her parents Ed and Mable Gunderson, a brother Wayne Gunderson, a sister in law Sheila Gunderson, in laws Emery and Helen Goff, sister in law Katherine Wallace, and brother in law David Goff.
Donna grew up in Benson and lived here most of her life. She attended Southside Elementary School and graduated from Benson High School in 1960. She was united in marriage to Luverne E. Goff on July 28th, 1962, at St. Francis Catholic Church by Father Russell Doerrer. When they were first married, they lived in Minneapolis for a short while before returning to Benson. While there, Donna worked at the Quality Park Envelope Company. Back in Benson, she worked at Dick’s Cafe, was a supervisor at Fingerhut for many years, then worked at Prairie 5 for a bit. She spent 34 years as the Environmental Services Director at Meadow Lane Healthcare Center. She was instrumental in organizing the Prom at Meadow Lane. She spent many hours matching jewelry to outfits so that everyone could dress up for it. She also decorated countless beautiful Christmas trees for the residents, they were so important to her. Donna formed a special bond with several classmates who have stayed close by meeting for lunch and other gatherings over the years.
Donna was a member of the National Executive Housekeepers Association. She was a Vikings fan, loved that purple. She loved going to garage sales and auctions and loved to get good deals. She was known for her jewelry collection and shared it with anyone who asked. She liked to look good and was lovingly referred to as the ‘diva’ Grandma. Donna loved going to her kids’ sporting events and later, to her grandkids events. She was a Hospice volunteer, enjoyed walking, gardening, reading and of course, sewing. She sewed clothes for her family and did alterations for many, many people. Her greatest sewing masterpiece was the wedding gown she made for her daughter. Donna enjoyed Joyce Meyer Ministries, was a prayer warrior and was known for her Angel collection. Donna was a member of Word Fellowship Church. Her faith was so very important to her. She played such an important part in so many lives, she will be greatly missed by her family, but we all know that she is in a better place, with her beloved husband. She was the center of our family, a very unassuming woman, who was kind and helped out anyone in need. She never realized how many people she touched and what a true blessing she was to so many. She was a class act to the very end. Blessed be her memory.
