KMS boys miss out on great chance for win No. 2 with loss to YME Sting

The KMS boys basketball team missed out on a great chance for its second win of the season during a game at Yellow Medicine East last week.  The Saints fell behind 25-20 by halftime and couldn’t quite catch up in the second half, losing the Camden Conference game in Granite Falls, 54-48.
“Sometimes, you just have those off nights and this was one of them,” coach Matt Fragodt said.  “We shot really bad, and this is one game I would love to have another shot at.  We just couldn’t find a way to put two shots together.  We would make a little run, but then miss our next four times down the floor.  It was just one of those nights.”
The Saints dropped to 1-6 in the Camden Conference and 1-10 overall with the loss.  KMS was also scheduled to host Minneota last Tuesday night, but that game was postponed to Thursday, Feb. 23 due to a winter storm that hit the state last week.
This week, KMS was set to play at Benson, Monday; host league-leading Canby, Tuesday (yesterday) and play at Lakeview, Friday.  After the game against Lakeview, the Saints are set to play at winless Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart, Jan. 24, and also have a game with winless Wabasso coming up in early February and games against Lac qui Parle (3-9) and RCW (3-10) also among the final 14 games of the regular-season....
