Swift Falls, Minnesota – Wilfred “Willie” A. Holm, age 92, died on Monday, December 19, at the Appleton Nursing Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27th at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will follow the service at Swift Falls Cemetery. Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is assisting the family with the arrangements.
    
Wilfred “Willie” A. Holm was born on February 9, 1924 in Clontarf, Minnesota, the son of Olaf and Mary Caroline (Anderson) Holm. He grew up in the Clontarf and Benson area and attended country school in Benson.
 
On October 17, 1944, he was united in marriage to Agnes “Tootsie” Josephine Skare in Benson, Minnesota.  Together they were able to share in over 62 years of marriage. Willie served his country by joining the United State Army. He served in Europe from 1944 to 1945. He received a purple heart with an Honorable Discharge.
 
Willie began working with his uncle in Benson then began working as a parts man for Lorenz Auto. In the late 1960’s, he owned and operated the NAPA auto parts store until his retirement in the early 1980’s. He was a member of the Benson VFW, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, and active throughout the community. He enjoyed yard work, mowing, helping others, fixing machines, pool parties, and socializing and coffee at Breens. Willie was called from this life on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Appleton Nursing Home. He attained the age of 92 years, 11 months and 10 days.  
 
Willie is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Dennis) Noukki of Benson; four grandchildren: Amber (Duane Baker Jr.) Langford, Marquitta (Rob) Trimnell, Malcolm Braih, and Ben Braih; seven great-grandchildren: Jyderian West, Abbey Brown, Jesse Mord, Wyatt Brown, Jed Brown, Jack Trimnell, and Emmaleigh Trimnell; and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tootsie on February 20, 2007; his parents, Mary and Olaf; 2 brothers, Lawrence “Slim” Holm and Alfred Holm; a sister, Elsie (Holm) Nurmi; a daughter, Stacie Holm; and a granddaughter, Amanda Baker. Blessed be the memory of Willie Holm.
