Benson boys fall to NLS in season opener, 77-59

The Benson boys basketball team opened up the season with a 77-59 loss at home to New London-Spicer, Thursday night, Dec. 1.
NLS went on a big run midway through the first half to go from a tight 14-13 game to a 30-14 lead.  From then on, Benson kept pace with the Wildcats as NLS outscored the Braves only 47-45 from that point on.
The Braves are now set to play at Sauk Centre, Thursday, Dec. 8, followed by a game at home against BOLD, Tuesday, Dec. 13 and the Benson Boys Invitational, Dec. 16-17.
During the Benson Invitational, Breckenridge and MACCRAY are slated to meet in the first game at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16, while Benson and ACGC square off in the second game at about 7:45 p.m.  The game with ACGC will also count as a WCC contest.
The two losers will meet in the third-place game at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, followed by the championship game...
