FUNERAL NOTICE
 
Fred John Barth, age 70, of Danvers, died Saturday, December 3, 2016, in Swift County Benson Health Services.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Church of the Visitation in Danvers. Burial will be in Church of the Visitation Catholic Cemetery.

Fred John Barth was born on March 30, 1946 in Montevideo, Minnesota, the son of Charles and Annie (Behrens) Barth. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and grew up in the Holloway area. Fred attended school in Holloway and Appleton and joined the United States Army at the age of 18, serving his country as a Private First Class from November 23, 1965 to November 22, 1967, during which he served in Vietnam. On December 5, 1970, Fred was united in marriage to Rosemary Margaret Broin at the Church of the Visitation in Danvers. Together they were able to share in more than 45 years of marriage.
 
Fred was an excellent mechanic and through the years he worked at the Mobil Station in Danvers, Lorenz Manufacturing and Ascheman Oil. After retirement, he continued to use his skills and interests to work on small engines and lawn mowers and also enjoyed mowing lawns. Fred was a life member of the VFW Post # 1403 and the Disabled American Veterans.
 
He was called from this life on December 3, 2016 in Swift County Health Services in Benson. Fred attained the age of 70 years, 8 months and 3 days.
 
Fred is survived by his wife, Rosemary Barth; son, David (Laurie Flaherty) Barth; two grandchildren, Drizzt and Artemis Barth; sister, Leona Winkleman; and brother, Walter Barth.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Annie Barth; and siblings: Paul, Albert, Willie, Robert, Mary Lowry, Viola Bahl, and Ruth Anne.
