Elizabeth “Betty” L. Lageson, age 86, of Benson died on Sunday evening, October 9, 2016, at the Bethesda Grand in Willmar, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. Interment will be at the West Bank Cemetery of rural Danvers. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.
 
Elizabeth “Betty” L. Lageson was born on June 1, 1930 in Hancock, Minnesota, the daughter of Harold and Florence (Goulet) Bush. She grew up and attended school in Hancock. She was united in marriage to Robert Smith until his death in 1949, and later she was married to Vernon Lageson. She lived in Danvers, Minnesota and worked for Fingerhut in Benson and later for DeToy’s Café. Betty was a member of the West Bank Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and loved dancing. She was called from this life on Sunday evening, October 9, 2016, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. She attained the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 9 days.
       
She is survived by her 7 children, Bobbie (Dennis) Boutain of Great Falls, Montana, Pat (Marlow) Erdman of Willmar, Mark Lageson of Loring, Montana, Jackie Lageson of Boston, Massachusetts, Cindy (David) Clark of Loring, Montana, Valerie (Richard) Cook of Benson, and Todd Lageson of Appleton; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister, Beedee Schmidt of Clontarf; and a brother-in-law, Leon Sloneker of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Florence; her husbands, Robert Smith and Vernon Lageson; her sisters, Haroldine Walker and Pat Sloneker; and brothers-in-laws, Robert Walker and Eldon Schmidt. Blessed be her memory.
