Arthur O. Hulberg, 101, Benson, died Friday, Aug. 12, in Golden Living Center. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson.  Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson is in charge of the arrangements.
Arthur Oliver Hulberg, age 101, was born on July 5, 1915 in Langhei Township, Pope County, Minnesota the son of Christian and Julie Ostad Hulberg. He was baptized at the Lake Hazel Lutheran Church and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church by Pastor Strand.   He attended country school at District #62.
He served his country by joining the United States Army and also by working for the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a member of Lake Hazel Lutheran Church until that closed then he joined Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson. He was a church usher for over 60 years. He farmed his entire life with his brother Clifford. He enjoyed dancing, reading, taking drives in the country, and visiting with friends and family. He was very proud of his award for being the oldest person enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program since 1987.
Arthur is survived by his nieces Wanda Warnke and Beatrice Simonson; nephews Steven Naig and John (Arlene) Pederson, a niece in law Barb Naig, and several grand and great grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Christian and Julie, his sisters and their spouses, Alice (Burdette) Naig, Jennie (Oliver) Pederson, and an infant sister Ida, his brothers Melvin and Clifford, and nephews Richard and Jerome Naig.
