OBITUARY
 
DeWane Lee Wall was born on January 20, 1931, in Calhoun County, Iowa, the son of George and Ella (Armstrong) Wall. He graduated from Jolley High School in 1949 and enlisted in the United States Air Force on December 7, 1950. He served in Germany and England during the Korean War and was discharged on March 8, 1953 following his father’s death.
     
On August 7, 1951, he was united in marriage to Jacquelyn “Jackie” Meusburger. This union was blessed with over 64 years of marriage and seven children. They farmed in Iowa until January of 1958 when they moved to a farm south of Benson. He retired from farming in 1982 and drove Semi until retiring in 2000. DeWane served on the Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church Board until it closed and he served on the Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church Cemetery Board.  He was very active in the Benson V.F.W. Post 1403 and was a past post commander.  DeWane loved to hunt, fish, garden, go camping, and watch the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He was an avid reader, bird watcher, and he loved to watch game shows.
 
DeWane was called from this life on Monday, July 18, 2016, at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. He attained the age of 85 years, 5 months and 28 days.  DeWane is survived by his wife Jackie of Benson; his children George (Linda) Wall of Benson, Deb (Ed) Lagred of Benson, Ed (Sherry) Wall of Loveland, Colorado, Doug (Bonnie) Wall of New London, Ken (Linda) Wall of Benson, Lori Lindenfelser of Princeton, and Kevin (Kim) Wall of Niwot, Colorado; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Ella, and his sister Jan Moore. Blessed be his memory.
