Howard James Lang was born November 27, 1922, in Barry, Minnesota to Raymond and Blanche Lang.
Howard died  July 12, 2016 in Naples, FL.  
After graduating from the University of Minnesota with aeronautical engineering and business degrees, he married Barbara Ann Bennett in 1944.  He served in the U.S Navy during World War II.  Upon returning stateside, he worked as an aeronautical engineer for McDonnell Douglas in San Diego.
Howard moved to Benson, Minnesota to harvest bluegrass.  He and Barbara also owned and operated oil/gas business interests in seven states.
As a private pilot, Howard flew throughout the U.S., Mexico and Canada, and even explored above the Arctic Circle.  Hobbies included snow skiing, scuba diving, sailing, golfing, fishing and hunting.  
Howard was well versed on many subjects and an excellent problem solver.  He was a generous man and lived his life with integrity.  Dedicated and devoted to Barbara and his family, he gave so much and asked for so little.  
Howard was predeceased by his wife, Barbara, in 2012.  
He is survived by children: Katherine (Paul Rushalk), Brad (Patricia), Dan (Susan) and Patrick (Katy Deaton), and six grandchildren.
