Marion Jane Schliep, 84, of Appleton, Minnesota (formerly of Holloway)  died Saturday, April 23, 2016 in the Appleton Area Health Services - Care Center.  
Funeral services were Friday, April 29 at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church- Fairfield Township, officiated by Rev. Donald Klatt.  Burial followed in the church cemetery.  
Marion Jane Schliep was born July 10, 1931 to the late Ingvald and Eleanor (Paulson) Tofte.
She was baptized August 9, 1931 and was confirmed November 11, 1945 at her childhood church, Drywood Lutheran.  
Marion was raised in the Holloway and Appleton area.  She attended country school District #30 and later attended Appleton High School.  Her love of dancing introduced her to a handsome young man at a dance in Holloway.  
November 10, 1951, she became the wife and dancing partner of that young man, Stanley Schliep.  Marion and Stan were blessed with 64 years together and four children: Ron, Cheryl, Marilyn, and Stanton.
Stanley and Marion raised their family on the “Schliep Home Farm.” She was an active member of Trinity Fairfield Lutheran Church, the “Over 50 Club”, and Homemakers.  Marion was a “4-H mom.” Teaching and sharing her love of gardening, canning, baking, and chickens with her children.  
Her flower gardens at the farm were of great pride and joy to her.  Marion & Stanley continued those beautiful gardens and yard at their home in Holloway.  
Over the years Marion worked for the Holloway Market Co., CMI, Florence Hagen, and Meadow Lane Nursing Home in Benson for 22 years.  Being the eldest of nine children, Marion was more than just a big sister to her siblings.  As most of them spent a lot of time with her and Stanley, she was their “go to” person for advice and/or approval of things.  
Marion is survived by her husband Stanley; her children: Ron (Joann) Schliep of Holloway, Cheryl (Tom) Gustafson of Hutchinson, Marilyn (Dennis) Gallagher of Valdese, NC, Stanton (Jennifer) Schliep of Holmen, WI; grandchildren: Doug (Alicia) Schliep, Dan Schliep, Janelle Schliep, Kimanae (Jeremy) Asmussen,  Ben Gustafson, Lucas (Amanda) Gustafson, Justine (Alden) Elliott, Shannon (Steven) Gatlin, Tyler (Danelle) Schliep and Anthony Schliep; great-grandchildren: Jacob and Emma Schliep, Noah and Lillian Gustafson, Hayden and Elijah Gustafson, Theo Elliott, Greyson Gatlin, and Avery Schliep; siblings: Elvera (Stanley) Sachs, Phyllis Banken, Deanna (Marcel) Hoffman, David Tofte, Donald (Connie) Tofte, Norman (Sue) Tofte, Janet Tofte; brothers in-law, Norman (Becky) Hoffman and Eric Allen; sister in-law, Irene (Ken) VanHorn; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, many of whom she was their Godmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ingvald and Eleanor Tofte; sister, Eileen Hoffman; parents-in-law, Peter & Emma Schliep; brothers-in-law: Virgil (Edith) Schliep, Ralph (Nola) Schliep and Theodore Banken Jr.; sister in-law, JoAnn (Schliep) Allen; and granddaughter-in-law, Misty Gustafson.
