Benson-Hancock Softball holds off Montevideo, 11-10

The Benson-Hancock softball team had a solid week of action last week, losing a doubleheader to league-leading Morris Area last Tuesday night in Benson, 5-3 and 12-5, but coming back to edge Montevideo, Thursday, 11-10.
Benson-Hancock, 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the WCC, was set to play a doubleheader at Minnewaska Area, Tuesday before coming home again for a game with Atwater-CGC, Thursday.
Morris 5-12, Ben-Hancock 3-5
Benson-Hancock was swept in a doubleheader by Morris Area last Tuesday night despite a strong effort by the Brave-Owls.  Morris Area scored four runs in the fifth to pull out a 5-3 victory in the first game, and then completed the sweep with a 12-5 win in the nightcap.
In the first game, Benson-Hancock scored two runs in the first inning for a 2-1 lead that stood up through four innings.  Morris scored four in the top-half of the fifth to go up for good at 5-2, but Benson-Hancock chipped away with a single run in the bottom-half of the fifth.
