     John Edgar Fahl was born on October 17, 1917 in Benson Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the son of Henning George Walfred and Jenny Elisabeth (Johnson) Fahl. He was baptized on December 13, 1917 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson by Rev. Lindahl. In 1931, he was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson by Rev. Chell. He grew up in Benson Township, attended District #93 country school grades 1 – 8, and graduated from the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris.
    On March 4, 1942, John was married to Doris N. Jones. Doris passed away on June 2, 1957. On June 3, 1967, John married Amy Agnes Spaulding at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson by Pastor Olson. This union was blessed with over 48 years of marriage. John farmed his entire life on the family farm. He was a member of the Farmer’s Union and the National Farmers Organization. He enjoyed farming, woodworking, playing cards, and reading. He was called from this life on Thursday afternoon, April 14, 2016, at the Gabriel House in Murdock. He attained the age of 98 years, 5 months and 27 days.
    John is survived by his wife, Amy of Benson; his children: Barbara (John) Siedlecki of Blaine, MN, Joan Moline of Benson, Linda Christenson of Spring Lake Park, MN, Terry (Terri Ann) Osborn of Aberdeen, SD, and Diane Bahr of Blaine, MN; six grandchildren: Scott (Jeni) Bahr, Wendi (Joe) Giuliano, Matt (Christine) Bahr, Dori (Nick) Crawford, Kim Moline, and Zachary Osborn; 7 great-grandchildren: Hannah Moline, Austen Bahr, Jessica Bahr, Sophia Bahr, Bronte Bahr, Oliver Bahr, and Jared Crawford; a sister, Vivian Rosby of Edina, MN; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, Walfred and Jenny Fahl; his first wife, Doris Fahl; a sister, Gladys and her husband Donald Walden; brothers: Gerald and his wife Hazel Fahl, Harold and his wife Marion Fahl; brother- in-law, Roy Rosby; a son, Doug Osborn; and a son-in-law, Harry Bahr.
