Dorothy E. Kirschbaum, 87, of Lewistown passed away Wednesday morning, December 30th, 2015 surrounded by her family, in the Central Montana Medical Center of natural causes.  She was born December 25, 1928 in Mora, MN the daughter of Abner and Leona (Larson) Ammerman.  She received her schooling in Mora and on January 19, 1947 she was united in marriage to Sam Kirschbaum.  They made their home Mora and later moved to Pope County, north of Benson where they operated a dairy farm.  They operated the dairy farm and raised their family there until his death in 1996.  She moved to Lewistown in 1997 to be near her daughter and made her home until her death.
Dorothy was a great mother and grandmother; she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.  She was active in St. Paul Lutheran Church, and the quilting club at St. Paul, the Senior Citizens Club serving as Secretary for 7 years, was a member of the Kitchen Band and enjoyed dancing, playing cards, crocheting and visiting with friends.
She is survived by sons Kenneth of Benson, MN, Mertin (Judy) of Williston, ND; daughter Fern (Clayton) Christenson of Lewistown, MT; step-sons Marlin of New Brighton, MN and Stanley (Mary) of Bloomington, MN; brothers Larry (Dottie) Ammerman of Palisade, MN and Roy of Mora, MN; sisters Elsie Ripperton of Mora, MN and Ellen Hallas of Stillwater, MN; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by 2 step-sons, 2 step-daughters, one brother, 2 sisters and her parents.
Memorial Services for Dorothy E. Kirschbaum were held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church.  At her request cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in Wood Lake, MN at a later date.  The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family.
