Luzerne Arlys Rensink, 88, formerly of Benson, MN, passed away on January 9, 2016, while at home in North Branch, MN, surrounded by her family.  Visitation will be held at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Benson on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10:00 am. The memorial service for Luzerne will follow at 11:00 am, with Pastor Gary Brandenburg officiating.  Luzerne’s family expresses their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has loved and cared for her throughout her wonderful life and request that memorial donations of your choice be given in lieu of flowers, if so desired.
Luzerne was born in Slayton, MN, to William and Mabel (Solberg) Clauson on March 17, 1927. She grew up on the family farm near Hadley, MN, with six brothers and three sisters. She was baptized and confirmed at Hadley Lutheran Church. She graduated from Slayton High School in 1945 and continued her education at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD.
Luzerne and Wilfred Rensink were united in marriage on June 18, 1949, and started a family while living on a farm near Slayton. In 1956, they relocated to the Benson area. Luzerne worked at the Meadow Lane Nursing Home and the Swift County – Benson Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church for over 50 years and was an active member of Mission Circle, Quilters and Our Redeemer’s Women. She enjoyed crocheting, counted cross stitch, making lefse and the fellowship of friends and family.
Luzerne is survived by hers sons, Doug (Shelly) Rensink of Lindstrom, MN, and Neil (Clare) Rensink of Delano, MN; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert (Eleanor) Clauson of Sun City, AZ.  Luzerne is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mabel; husband Wilfred; daughter Connie; granddaughter Heidi; five brothers and three sisters.
