Lowell E. Moen, 75, of Benson, Minnesota  died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Belgrade Nursing Home in Belgrade.  
Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls.  Visitation was held for two hours prior to the service at the church.  Burial was in the Rolling Forks Cemetery.
Lowell Eugene Moen was born  July 4, 1940 in Brooten, the son of Earl and Mearl (Solbrekken) Moen.  He was baptized at his home and confirmed at Rolling Forks Lutheran Church.  He grew up on the family farm in Gilchrist Township and attended country grade school in District #16 and 2.  He graduated from Brooten High School in 1958 and continued his education at the St. Cloud Business College.  
After his schooling, he returned to the farm where he worked at Town & Country Gas Company in Glenwood as assistant manager and served in the Minnesota National Guard from 1963 to 1969. In 1976, he moved to Benson and worked for the Swift Co-op Oil Company and Benson Community Credit Union, retiring in 1986. In retirement, he served as the museum curator for the Swift County Historical Society from 1986 to 2010.  September 11, 2015 he moved to a Belgrade apartment to be closer to family due to his health.  
Lowell was an active member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Benson Lions, Swift County DFL, Swift County Farmers Union and Swift Lodge #129. He loved to spend many hours working on family history searching on the computer and taking road trips with his sisters and brothers-in-law to find out more information.   
Lowell died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from cancer, at the Belgrade Nursing Home at the age of 75.
He is survived by his sisters: Karen (Gary) Theis of Belgrade and Marsha (Paul) Hanson of Brooten; nieces, Lisa (Jason) Karch, Jodi (Joey) Pelzer, Laura (Chad) Spanier, Amber (Justin) Deters and 13 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephews, Chad Theis and Adam Hanson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Swift County Historical Society.   Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade.  www.hafh.org
