Dorothy Viola Anderson, 93, of Willmar, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015  at Bethesda Pleasant View in Willmar.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m.  Tues., September 8, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial was at the Benson City Cemetery in Benson.
Dorothy Viola Anderson was born to Joseph and Geoline (Olson) Carlson  December 4, 1921, in Minneapolis. She lived in Minneapolis until second grade, when her and her family moved to rural Murdock. She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith and later confirmed  September 2, 1934 in Murdock. She attended country school before graduating from Murdock High School in 1939.
September 30, 1939, Dorothy married Ivel Iverson. To this union three children were born, Kenneth, Nancy and Dennis. After marriage, they moved to Moorhead, DeGraff and later Benson. During this time she worked as a farmer’s wife, Simmonds Produce, and Finger Hut. After 33 years of marriage, Ivel passed away. Dorothy later married Oliver Anderson  June 30, 1973. She moved to Willmar and worked as a caretaker for the apartment complex they owned.  He would precede her in death December 22, 1981.
Dorothy moved to Centennial Square in 2000, where she was well known for her daily walks. Dorothy was an active member at Calvary Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed making quilts with her Doing Days group.  She also spent much of her time working on the genealogy of her family and friends. She loved it so much that after working with the Swift County Historical Society, people would ask her directly for information. She was also very dedicated to journaling. She would record the day’s events in her journal, these entries date back to the mid-50’s. Most importantly, Dorothy was always there for her friends and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Ken (special friend, Patti) Iverson of Ham Lake, Nancy (Rick) Anderson of Clear Lake, WI,  and Dennis (Cindy) Iverson of Ham Lake; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, June Gimse of Willmar, Iva Evenson of Spicer, and Joyce Jorgenson of Fairmont.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ivel in 1972 and Oliver in 1981; and siblings: Vincent Carlson, Ellert Carlson and Ann Christianson; daughter-in-law, Deloris Iverson, four brothers-in-law, sister-in-law and five nephews.
