Dorothy L. Stelzig, 100, of Danvers, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the Knute-Nelson Care Center in Alexandria.  
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday, August 1 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson with a visitation held from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.  Burial was in the Church of the Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Danvers.  
Dorothy Loretta Stelzig was born July 14, 1915, in Swift County, Minnesota to Ferdinand and Martha (Reich) Platow.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.  She grew up in the Danvers and Holloway area and attended country school through the eighth grade.  
November 21, 1937, Dorothy was united in marriage to Edward J. Stelzig, Sr. in Danvers.  This union was blessed with more than 52 years of marriage and they farmed the family farm in Marysland Township, Swift County.  Dorothy belonged to the Homemakers Club and enjoyed embroidery, sewing, crafting, her soap opera shows, cooking, word puzzles, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy passed away July 29, 2015 at the Knute-Nelson Care Center in Alexandria. She attained the age of 100 years and 15 days.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Joy Ann (Tom) Wenzel of Little Falls and Joe (Dee Dee) Stelzig of Danvers; eight grandchildren: Blaine (Gail) Brecht, Cathy (Dan) Bygd, Steve (Chris) Brecht, Danny (Jodi) Brecht, Amy (Jason) Opatz, Mary (Brian) Kalla, Jennifer (Nick) Larson, and Chad (Amy) Stelzig; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elsie Ahrndt of Benson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward in 1990; son-in-law, Leo Brecht in 1970; brothers, Ben Platow and Al Platow; and sisters: Bertha Beyer, Esther Thielke, and Eleanor Heike.
