MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
 DISTRICT NO. 777,
Benson, Minnesota
 Monday, June 1, 2015
6:00 p.m.
Benson Senior High

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chair Chad Payne.  Members present:   Andy Abner, Jodi DeJong-Hughes, Jason Madden, Bill McGeary, Al Pagel, Chad Payne and Gary Williams.
Members absent:  None.  Also present:  Dennis Laumeyer, David Benson, Mike Knutson, Pam Anderson, Shannon Schmidt, Don Brehmer and Kirsten Mahoney.
Chair Chad Payne stated the purpose of the special meeting is to sell the trades house.  Don Brehmer stated the house is sold “as is” and commented that it is maintenance free and economical.  Dave Benson opened the sealed bid received by John and Kirsten Mahoney for $71,000.
Motion by B. McGeary, second by J. Madden to accept the $71,000 bid from John and Kirsten Mahoney for the trades house.  Motion carried (7-0).
The board watched the required MSHSL video and discussed the school’s athletic and activities programs with Shannon Schmidt.
A discussion was held regarding the community survey the board approved in May.  Dennis presented information and a proposal of $8,500-$9,000 to conduct the survey and a timeline to consider.
The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
