Bernice Loe, 90, of New Ulm, formerly of Ridgeway on German

Bernice Loe, 90, of New Ulm, formerly of Ridgeway on German, died Monday, June 22, 2015 at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.  
Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm with Father Sam Wagner celebrating the Mass.  
Burial followed in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.  
Visitation was from 9 - 10:30 a.m.  Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, north chapel, in New Ulm.  
Bernice is survived by daughters: Karen (Art) Forte of Glenwood, Lu Ann Peterson (special friend Tom Haas) of New Ulm, Susan Peterson of Mankato, Amy (Dennis) Jobgen of Danvers; sons: Gary (Jane) Peterson of Granada, David (Lilly) Peterson of Meade, Colorado, Danny Peterson of Dillon, Colorado; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Eldon Peterson, her second husband, Hollis Loe, and a brother, Nick Schuckert, Jr.
Bernice Marion Schuckert was born May 28, 1925 in New Ulm to Nick Sr. and Anna (Sperl) Schuckert.  She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1943 and then from the LPN school at the Union Hospital.  
March 30, 1948, Bernice was united in marriage to Eldon Peterson in New Ulm.  After his death, she married Hollis Loe  April 18, 1981 in Benson.  Bernice worked as an LPN at Loretto Hospital and then Union Hospital both in New Ulm before moving to Benson where she worked as an LPN.  In the late 1990’s, they moved back to New Ulm.  
Bernice and several of her nursing friends started a card club playing 500 monthly and this lasted for 65 years with the same group.  She loved sewing, crafts, playing bingo, listening to old time music, and playing her harmonica.  She was a great cook and loved going on fishing trips up north with her family.  
Bernice was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society, and a past member of the Hanska American Legion and a past volunteer at the New Ulm Medical Center.
