MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 777, Benson, Minnesota
Monday, March 16, 2015 – 5:30 p.m.
Benson High School Media Center
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Chair Chad Payne.  Members present:  Andy Abner, Jodi DeJong-Hughes, Jason Madden, Bill McGeary, Al Pagel, Chad Payne, Gary Williams.
Also present:  Dennis Laumeyer, Brad Johnson, Dave Benson, Mike Knutson, Karen Jacobson, Pam Anderson, Kathy Ahrndt, Molly Hanson, Donita Ascheman, Julie Carroll, Anne Duncan, Lisa Burns, John Fragodt.
Gymnastics space was added to the agenda.
No citizen comments.
Routine consent agenda items were approved.
Administrative reports were presented.
Dennis read the roles and expectations of the School Board and Superintendent as well as the Chain of Command.
Karen Jacobson from MRVED generated a list of words the Board had chosen previously and used them to write sample mission and vision statements.  Discussion took place regarding key words and phrases to develop a couple more samples for the board to consider before the next discussion.
The board approved the 2015-2016 Draft 7-12 Student Registration Guide.
Supt. Laumeyer stated several options have been considered and discussion was held regarding costs, dimensions and spaces that may be available for gymnastics space.  Discussion will continue in April.
The board accepted the 2015-2016 Special Education Services Contract with SW/WC Service Cooperative. The board accepted the 2015-2016 Heartland Ranch School Services Contract with SW/WC Service Cooperative.
The board approved the Resolution to Appoint Election Judges for the May 12, 2015 School District Special Election.

$500 from Beatrice Weber for the Tom Weber Memorial Scholarship
$200 from Jan Baukol for the Keith Baukol Memorial Scholarship
$200 from Rita Staton for the Miles Staton Memorial Scholarship
$75 from Deborah Reardon for the Miles Staton Memorial Scholarship
$25 from Rodney & Kris Staton for the Miles Staton Memorial Scholarship
