The meeting was called to order at 5:33 p.m. by Chair Chad Payne.  Members present:  Andy Abner, Jodi DeJong-Hughes, Jason Madden, Bill McGeary, Chad Payne and Gary Williams.
Members absent:  Al Pagel.  Also present:  Dennis Laumeyer, Dave Benson, Pam Anderson, John Fragodt and Allen Mumm.
Allen Mumm commented that the pool is shallow and should be 12-14 feet deep for regulation size diving.
Routine consent agenda items were approved.
Superintendent Laumeyer explained the two draft school calendars for 2015-16 with different start dates, conference dates and Graduation dates.
The board approved the Budget Committee’s recommendation to enter into negotiations with teachers who submit requests for early retirement, with a cap of $10,000.
Dennis and Design Team staff members have met with architect Paul Youngquist to discuss options on the building project.  Dennis met with City employees and attorney Wilcox regarding utility concerns, etc. Dennis is drafting a letter to the City Council to vacate a portion of the street for school access.  Dennis spoke to the Superintendent of Schools in Redwood Falls regarding their community center and how it was funded.  The city and school shared the cost to build and it is operated by the City of Redwood Falls. Dennis met with staff last week at Northside and the high school and obtained good input. Discussion was held on the total dollar amount to be approved for the project so a resolution can be drafted for approval at the next board meeting. The timeline for a May 12th vote must include a resolution passed by the end of February. Dennis will have Paul Youngquist provide final drawings with the changes and specific numbers and schedule a special meeting next week.
Future Meetings:
Tuesday, February 17, 5:30 p.m., Senior High Media Center
Monday, March 16, 5:30 p.m., Senior High Media Center
