Joseph Edward Diederich, age 62, of Benson, died on Monday, February 2, 2015.  Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2015, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson.  Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home.

Joseph Edward Diederich was born March 30, 1952, in Benson, Minnesota, to Cletus Matthew and Doris Louise (Matter) Diederich.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church.  He graduated from St. Francis Catholic Grade School, Benson High School, and Willmar Vo-Tech (now Ridgewater College) Chef Training.  Joe worked at Tyler’s (now Case IH manufacturing), the Delmonico Café, and for Minor Drywall all in Benson.  He moved to Brooklyn Park where he worked at Oildyne Inc.  He was married to Bridget Skaife and they lived in Brooklyn Park for a short time before Joe moved back to Benson in the mid 1990’s.  He worked various jobs for area farmers and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  
Joe enjoyed cooking, fishing, and driving around in his pickup truck visiting people.
Joe passed away Monday, February 2, 2015, at the New Ulm Medical Center.  He had attained 62 years, 10 months, and two days of age.
He is survived by his brother, Paul Diederich of Benson; sisters: Margaret Ann (Rudy) Diederich-Lee of Minneapolis, Jean Diederich of Minneapolis, Patricia (Arvel Jr.) Watkins of Benson, Lucille (Andrew Tennant) Diederich of Redwood Falls, and Mary Ellen Diederich of Windom; nieces and nephews: Chrycisse Diederich, Maia Diederich-Lee, Bryony Diederich, Michael (Megan) Diederich, Ryan Diederich, Brianna Watkins, Ashley Watkins, Amanda Watkins, and Kimberly Watkins; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Doris Diederich; and spouse, Bridget Skaife.
