No phones in Benson school classrooms has board support
By Reed Anfinson
With the first reading of proposed changes to the Benson High School student handbook, rules are being set in place to severely restrict the use of smart phones.
District 777’s Board of Education conducted the first reading of the changes at its July 17 board meeting. The second reading of the changes are scheduled to take place at the board’s Aug. 14 meeting. Following the second reading, the new policies are implemented.
Other changes involved requiring backpacks to be left in lockers when students come to school rather than being taken from class to class, the cafeteria, or other rooms. New dress code polices are also being put in place.
