Nancy Lee (Erikson) Naig
Nancy Lee (Erickson) Naig, 78, of Elk River, Minnesota passed away March 29, 2024, after a courageous battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
Nancy was born September 18, 1945 in Minneapolis. She’s preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Gladys Erickson. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Charles, son Corey Naig (Sarah), daughter Leah Schilling (Eric), grandchildren Afton Naig, Hazel Naig, Anders Schilling, Henrik Schilling, and many loving relatives and friends.
Nancy grew up on a farm in Pope County, Minnesota. After graduating from Starbuck High School in 1963, she attended Institute of Medical Technology to become a laboratory technician. Her early years were spent working at the Fergus Falls State Hospital and later at Glenwood Hills Hospital and Lufkin Laboratory in Minneapolis.
Nancy married Charles Naig in 1969 and started a family in 1975. Nancy and family moved to Elk River in 1982 where she began working in the schools as support staff. In 2007, Nancy retired after 25 years with the Elk River Area School District. After retirement, Nancy and Charles wintered in Arizona.
Nancy enjoyed sewing, knitting, family history, speaking Norwegian, writing, gardening, volunteering and spending precious time with her grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held April 13, 2024 at 12:00 at Elk River Lutheran Church, 729 Main Street Elk River, MN 55330. Visitation begins at 10:00.
