MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 777, Benson, Minnesota Tuesday, November 12, 2019 - 5:30 p.m. Benson High School Media Center
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Chair Brian Samuelson. Members present: James Berens, Paul Carruth, Mary KW Langan, Eric Peterson, Brian Samuelson, Gary Williams.
Members absent: Bill McGeary.
Additions to the Agenda: Move audit to 7.1.1; Move tour of Civic Center before adjournment.
Approved Agenda.
Approved Consent Agenda.
Progress Reports were presented by the administrators.
Ryan Breitbach, CM, gave a Northside project update stating the structure is going up; then detailing work; roofing in a couple weeks for the addition; underground plumbing is in; cafeteria interior load bearing walls are complete and steel will be set soon with prep demo on tie-in locations while plumbers work on hydraulic piping. Foundation for the north BHS classrooms is complete; main entrance foundation is done; steel is scheduled in about four weeks; precast walls coming mid to late January for the auditorium; and the buildings committee, Paul, Mary and Brian, will need to start meeting soon.
Chris Bartosiewski presented the final audited fund balances and discussed how fairly seamlessly the audit went this year. The audit packet will be ready for final approval at the December 2nd meeting.
Approved the recommended changes to Policies 201, 202, 203, 203.1, 203.2, 203.5, 203.6, 204, 205, 205, 207.
Approved the Board and Superintendent Goals for the 2019-2020 school year.
Donations Approved: $95 and two MN State Flags from Class of 1953
