MBA Storm 1-2 to open up season

The MBA boys hockey team opened up the season with 1-2 record after losing to Wadena-Deer Creek in the opener last Tuesday night in Morris, 5-1, but coming back to win by a 6-0 shutout at Bagley-Fosston, Friday, before losing to River Lakes in Morris on Saturday, 5-2.
The  Storm are set to host Willmar at the Benson Civic Center at 7 p.m., Thursday (tomorrow) before playing at Windom Area, Friday.

The MBA Storm opened up the season with a 5-1 home loss to Wadena-Deer Creek in a game played last Tuesday at Morris.
WDC scored the first goal at the 11:42 mark of the first period, but MBA countered with a powerplay goal four minutes later by Cole Blume and assisted by Tyler Hadfield and Trevor Buss.
WDC scored three goals in the first 3:27 of the second period to go up 4-1 and added another goal six minutes later to increase its lead to 5-1, while MBA was held scoreless the rest of the game.
The Storm outshot the winners 35-28, but Gunnar Olson stopped all but one of the shots he faced for WDC, while Christopher Danielson had 23 saves for the Storm.
