Josh Manzke was named the MVP of the boys track team this spring. Manzke, a senior from Benson, was a top sprinter, jumper, and relay member for the Fighting Braves during 2016.
Manzke was sixth in the 200 meter dash at the section meet this season after placing in four events at the sub-section meet, including a third in the 100, a fourth in the 200, a fourth in the long jump, and a second with the 1600 meter relay team of Sam Rosemeier, Jon Tostenson, and Max Peterson.
Benson senior Zach Burns earned the Most Improved award. He was a consistent performer for the Fighting Braves in the hurdles, relay, pole vault, and all three jumps.
In addition, KMS senior Jon Tostenson, and Benson juniors Max Peterson and Josh Bailey shared the Coaches’ Award.
In total individual points earned this season by the boys track team, only one point separated the first three finishers -- Josh Manzke with 88.5, Zach Burns with 88.1, and Jon Tostenson with 87.5.
