Lakers close out regular- season with loss to Atwater

The Norway Lake-Sunburg Lakers closed out their 2021 regular season County Line amateur baseball league schedule with a 6-5 loss to the Atwater Chuckers, Sunday, July 11.

Atwater led 4-0 after three innings, but the Lakers took a short-lived 5-4 lead with five runs in the fourth.  The Chuckers got two more runs in the seventh for the one-run victory.

With the regular season finished for the Lakers, their record sits at 2-8 in County Line League action, giving them the number six seed in the upcoming league playoffs.  

The Lakers were set to open up the playoffs Friday at Paynesville.  If the Lakers win, they would travel to Spicer in a game that will earn the winner a berth into the Region 4C tournament.  If the Lakers lose Friday night, they would not play until Sunday, July 25, in an elimination game with an opponent to be determined...
